  • Biblography

    Dr. Haroon Khan is a professor at the Department of Pharmacy, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Dr. Khan has got PhD degree from University of Peshawar in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has more than twenty years of experience in pharmacy teaching, research and professional expertise in various fields of pharmaceutical sciences. His research focus is phytomedicines including phytopharmacological and phytochemical investigations of extracts/isolated compounds in collaboration with numerous national and international research groups. In this connection, he has already published 293 articles including Researchs, Reviews and Editorials in various national and international reputable journals with considerable impact factor and extensive citation. Prof. Khan is the editorial board member of a number of journals including consulting editor of Pharmacological Research, Section Editor of Current Neuropharmacology, Current Molecular Pharmacology, Associate Editor of Current Bioactive Compounds and Academic Editor of Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. He is regularly editing a number of books for international publishers such as Elsevier, CRC, Springer, Bentham science etc. The scientific contribution of Dr. Khan has been acknowledged by Pakistan Council for Science and Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST), and awarded Research Productivity awards four times for the years 2011-2014. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Haroon Khan has been placed in the recently published Standford’s list of world top 2% scientists. This clearly reflects the outstanding research potential of Dr. Khan acknowledged globally. Dr. Khan has contributed a lot in the field of Pharmaceutical sciences along with their collaborators from other technologically advanced countries of the world. It is a fact that other countries are benefiting from the research of Dr. Khan with use of their advanced research facilities for finalizing and launching novel active drug molecules, patenting those and uplifting their country’s economy. Although, Dr. Khan has accomplished all research goals with very limited lab resources available locally and if he is provided with all up to the mark and advanced research lab facilities, he can be of much more worth to country in uplifting the economy and promoting brighter image of Pakistan worldwide. Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan is proud of having Prof. Dr. Haroon Khan as a Faculty member.
