I Dr. Mohib Shah was born in Mardan on 06.3.1979. I did my Matriculation from Takht Bhai in 1994. I did F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) and B.Sc. (Biological Science Group) from Government Post Graduate College Mardan in 1997 and 1999 respectively. I got admission in M.Sc. (Botany) and completed this programme with high enthusiasm and spirit. I worked in collaboration with WWF during M.Sc. and conducted research in ecology on Mount Elum, District Bunir, Pakistan.
During Ph.D., I selected District Shangla, Tehsil Chakesar for research. I studied the area for four years consecutively and stayed there and explored various microclimates, plant communities and different vegetation under different edaphic and climatic conditions. I also won the indigenous scholarship from HEC.
So far I have published 43 research papers in National and International Journals. I also have written four practical note books and hand books for Matric and Higher Secondary School. I have attended 43 workshops and Seminars and presented many papers in various conferences. I have also arranged few exhibitions and walks to highlight the significance of Biodiversity and Environmental issues concerning its deterioration.
I started my career as Lecturer in Botany from Islamia College University in 2005 and then appointed on the same post at Department of Botany, University of Peshawar. I joined Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan in 2010. I was selected as Assistant professor of Botany in 2013. In 2020, I was recommended as tenured associate Professor of Botany.
During my academic carrier, I have also performed various additional duties like, Hostel Warden, member of vigilant committee, staff proctor and in charge Botanical Garden.
I have completed research with dozen of M.Sc. students and more than 30 M.Phil. Scholars have completed their project in plant ecology, allelopathy and nanotechnology under my supervision. I have some Ph. D. students working in the field of vegetation ecology, allelopathy and rhizospheric ecology and few of them have submitted their dissertation.
It is hoped that I will continue my efforts and struggle to flourish more in the field of ecology and nanotechnology.
